Question 1

How many interview rounds does Google have?

Accepted Answer

Typically one or two technical phone screens followed by an onsite loop of four to five interviews — coding, system design from mid-level upward, and a Googleyness and Leadership behavioural round. A hiring committee then reviews the written feedback. Structure varies by team, level and region.

Question 2

Does my Google interviewer decide if I get hired?

Accepted Answer

No. Interviewers write detailed feedback and a separate hiring committee makes the decision from those write-ups. This is why narrating your reasoning out loud matters so much — unspoken thinking does not reach the committee.
